What Nemivo does, and what it doesn’t.
The unglamorous version. What happens to a save, where the AI sits, and the limits worth knowing before you hand over years of your library.
What happens when you save something
- You press the platform’s own save buttonNo new button, no copy-paste. The extension notices the save and reads what the page already carries: the title, the caption or post body, the creator, the link and the address of the thumbnail.
- The text is queuedThat metadata goes to your library straight away, then joins a background queue. Nothing blocks your browsing, and you can keep scrolling while it works.
- An AI model reads the textIt writes a short summary, a set of tags, and a guess at which collection the item belongs in, plus the finer detail that automations and filters use.
- It becomes findableThe item is indexed two ways at once: by the words it contains, and by what it means. That second index is what lets a vague query find the right save months later.
Most saves are enriched within seconds. Under heavy load it can take minutes. If the AI step fails, the item is still safely in your library, just without the generated fields, and you can have it read again.
It reads the words, not the picture.
Nemivo is a text system. Everything it writes about a save comes from the words that came with that save, and nothing else.
The model receives exactly seven things: the platform, the title, the caption or post body, the creator’s name, their handle, the media type, and the link. That is the entire input.
It does not watch the video. It does not listen to the audio. It does not transcribe speech, and it does not look at the image or the thumbnail.
So a post that carries a real caption gets a genuinely useful summary, and a striking video posted with one emoji and no words stays thin no matter how good the footage is. That is a property of the design rather than a bug, and it is worth knowing before you judge the results. Search works the same way: it matches the meaning of the wording, not what is on screen.
Where the AI actually sits
Nemivo does not train or run its own models. The text described above is sent to third-party AI providers, which do two jobs: writing the summary and tags, and turning the text into the mathematical representation that makes meaning-based search possible.
Only that item’s own metadata is sent. Your account, your other saves and your notes are not part of the request. The one exception is Ask AI, where your question travels together with the text of the saves it retrieved in order to answer you.
Which providers we use is an implementation detail and may change as models improve or prices move.
Generated fields are marked as such throughout the app, so you can always tell what you wrote from what a model wrote.
What we keep, and what we don’t
- The link and the text metadata for each save, plus the fields the AI wrote from it.
- Thumbnails are kept as addresses pointing back at the platform. We do not copy the images or the video onto our servers.
- The search vectors stay inside our database. They never appear in an API response or an export.
- Notes you write yourself, kept attached to the item they belong to.
All of it is exportable in one click, and none of it is shared with anyone unless you create a share link yourself.
The parts most products hide.
None of this is unusual for software like this. It is just rarely written down where you can read it before signing up.
Platform support can change
Nemivo reads 11 platforms today. We may add others, and we may stop supporting one if keeping it working stops being viable. If that happens, everything you already saved from it stays in your library and stays searchable. Only new saves from that platform would stop.
Extensions break when platforms change
The extension reads pages we do not control. A redesign, a markup change or a quiet API change on any platform can break saving there without warning, and usually does so before we hear about it. We fix these as quickly as we can, but no platform can be promised to keep working.
Limits can move
The plan limits are product limits, not promises. As costs, model prices and abuse patterns change, we may change them. When we do, we would rather tell you plainly than let you discover it mid-save.

The AI is a good guess, not a fact
Summaries, tags and collection picks are generated, which means they are usually useful and occasionally wrong. Every field is editable, and you can have any item read again. Nothing in your library is ever deleted on the AI’s say-so: the strongest thing an automation can do is archive.
Your data stays yours
Your library is private by default. Sharing is opt-in, per collection, and revocable. You can export everything in one click, and deleting your account deletes the library with it.
